Enrolments by Category


You need Admin access to be able to perform this action.
The category enrolments allows users to be enrolled in all courses within a category. This will synchronise any role assignments at category context.

How to Enable Category Enrolments


Step 1: From the Home Page, Login using your Admin credentials.





Step 2: On the upper left part of the home page, click on the   icon then choose the Site administration option.




Step 3: From the drop-down list, select Plugins --> Enrolments --> Manage enrol plugins gear icon.



Step 4: Find the 'Category Enrolments' from the list and click on the slashed eye icon  on the Enable column to activate Category enrolment.

 

Category Enrolment is now enabled:



Assigning Teachers or Students to a Category

• By default, only managers and course creators can be assigned category-wide. If you want to add teachers or students then the site administrator needs to tick the "category" box in their role in 'Define roles' in the Site Administration.
• To ensure they will be automatically assigned as teachers/students in any new courses you make, the administrator needs to set to "allow" the capability enrol/category:synchronised for the role in question in 'Define roles', to do this follow the steps below:

Step 1: On the upper left part of the home page, click on the   icon then choose the Site administration option.




Step 2: From the drop-down list, select Users --> Permissions --> Define roles gear icon.




Step 3: Click Student role



Step 4: Click Edit


Step 5: Tick the checkbox associated with Category.




Step 6: On the same page, provide access to Category Enrolments: enrol/category/synchronised for student by selecting Allow. and save the changes.



Enroling users to a Category

Step 1: On the upper left part of the home page, click on the   icon then choose the Site administration option.




Step 2: From the drop-down list, select Courses --> Manage courses and categories gear icon.



Step 3: Choose the category where you have enabled the Enrolment Category, click on the gear icon then choose Assign roles from the drop down list.


Step 4: On the assign roles page, select the role type that you want to have for the enrolees,.


Step 5: From the Potential users list, select the user/s (hold the ctrl button to select multiple users) you want to enrol then click on the  button.





The selected user is now enroled to the Category
