How to Add a Course Category v2
Note: You need
Teacher or
Manager access before you can perform this action.
Below are the steps to add a course category:
Step 1:
On your homepage, select Site administration option in the menu bar.
Step 2: On the second menu bar, select
Courses.
Step 3: Click on 'Add a category' from the Courses selection to the right.
Step 4: Fill out the necessary details you need for the category.

Parent Category*

Selecting
Top
will create a new category, selecting an existing category will create a new subcategory of this existing category. This field will be populated with Top by default.

Category Name
|
Enter a relevant introduction in the "introduction" text area that describes the Checklist activity if needed.
|
|
Category ID
|
The ID number of a course category is only used when matching the category against external system and is not displayed anywhere on the site. If the category has an official code name it may be entered, otherwise it can be left blank.
|
|
Description
|
Enter a description for this course. This is not a mandatory field and may be left blank.
|
The category is now successfully created.
