Overview
In this tutorial, we'll discuss how you can complete the Online Learning Assessment (OLA) from start to finish.
Step tutorial
1. Access the course that you're about to undertake. For this tutorial, we'll use ICTWEB432 as our example.
2. Go to the final section of the course. Depending on the unit, you might encounter either the Learner Assessment Pack or the Assessment Workbook.
3. The first thing to do is to answer the Candidate Instructions, as completing them is the only way assessments will become available.
4. Once done, the assessments will be available for you to answer.
KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT (KA)
Knowledge assessment consists mainly of question-type assessments, with one or more questions provided per tab for you to answer. Depending on the number of items, KA may be divided into different parts.
1. Open the Knowledge Assessment and click the "Attempt assessment now" button to begin.
NOTE: A prompt will pop up requesting your permission to allow the camera to capture you as you answer the assessment from start to end. Make sure to allow this, as it is necessary for completing the assessment.
2. Type your answers in the fields provided. Note that these fields are not mandatory, but ensure not to skip them as your assessor may mark you as incomplete if you do.
NOTE: Use the previous or next button to navigate between different questions. If you choose to answer the next question and temporarily skip the current one, you may do so, but ensure you go back to answer all questions before submitting.
NOTE: A save button will also be available; click it to save your answers on the current question. Note that navigating to the next question will automatically save your answer, so there's no need to click "Save and Next" simultaneously - the next button will suffice.
3. Add your signature when you reach the Assessment Submission Declaration tab; this is a mandatory field. Make sure to answer this to complete the assessment.
NOTE: You have the option to either draw or upload a signature; either choice will suffice. Just click the Save button once you're done.
4. Click on the Finish button.
5. You'll be prompted to either submit or return. Choose "Return" if you want to make modifications to your answers, or "Submit" if you are completely done.
6. If you select the submit button, a new prompt will appear for your confirmation. Click on the "Submit all and finish" button to proceed.
7. A summary of your attempt will be shown. Click on the "Finish review" button, either on the side or at the bottom of the page, once you have finished reviewing your attempt.
NOTE: Disregard the "Failed" status as the assessment is waiting to be graded. It will be updated soon after your assessment is graded.
8. You have successfully completed the knowledge assessment. Click on the "Back to the course" button to proceed to the other assessments.
WORKPLACE ASSESSMENT (WA), PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT (PA), AND/OR CASE STUDY (CS)
These assessments are typically performance-based. Most submissions involve video recordings and documentation.
1. Open the Workplace Assessment and click the "Attempt assessment now" button to begin.
2. Each task is divided into different steps for easy understanding. Some steps may not require actions or submissions, while others may. Just ensure to respond based on your preference and the availability of materials requested.
For example, in Task 1, Step 6, you have the option to either record or upload. This will depend on the availability of the person you are speaking to. If they are with you at the moment and can do the meeting on the spot, you may choose to record. If time is limited, you may record the meeting and upload it instead.
3. Use the previous or next button, as discussed earlier, for easy navigation between tasks and steps.
4. And once again, when you reach the Assessment Submission Declaration tab, either draw or upload your signature to complete the assessment.
5. Similarly to what you did in the Knowledge Assessment, click on "Finish" → "Submit all and Finish" → "Submit all and Finish" (confirmation) → "Finish review" to complete the process.
6. You should now be able to see the summary of your attempt.
And that is how you complete an online learning assessment.
