How to Edit Marking Guide v2

Note: You need Teacher or Manager access before you can perform this action.

Below are the steps to edit a marking guide:

Once a marking guide is added on a course learner assessment pack, you have the option to edit it right away or you can make changes to the marking guide later.

Step 1: From the Home Page, Login to your account.




Step 2: Search for the name of the course you want to view your activity report on the search icon located at the top right side of your screen.


Step 3: Select your course from the search results by clicking the Course title.

Step 3: Scroll down and locate the assignment activity on the course page and click on it.




Step 4: Once you are on the assignment activity page, click the Advanced grading from the activity administration menu tab.



Step 5: You will then have 3 options to choose from, click on ‘Edit the current form definition’ if you want to continue using the marking guide template you've already added on the course. 

Checklist 1: Make sure to change the Name of the Marking guide to (CHC Unit code) - Assessment Record. 




Checklist 2: Instruction for the Description should match the following text: 

Instructions 

 

1.  Your Assessor will mark each assessment activity with a 1 (one) for  ‘Satisfactory’ completion eg. if you have completed the task according to the prescribed requirements in the benchmark answers. Your assessor will mark with 0 (zero) for "Not Yet Satisfactory" if you have not completed the task according to the prescribed requirements in the benchmark answers.  

2.  Your assessor will provide you comments on your general performance of the tasks in the feedback area below 

3. Where the assessment activity is marked as 0 (zero) for Note Yet Satisfactory, your assessor will specify details of actions you need to take to achieve a "Satisfactory" result in the Assessor’s comments/feedback section below. You can then resubmit your assignment once you have addressed all the feedback instructions. 

4.  Your Assessor will verify and confirm your evidence submissions by making contact with the supervisor/observer involved in witnessing the assessments and will discuss your performance of the tasks. They will confirm that you have performed the tasks as recorded in any observations.  

5. Your Assessor Will Log the following information for Supervisor/s/Observer/s contacted in the assessor feedback area. 

 

        a.     Supervisor/observer name 

        b.     Role in the learner’s assessment (i.e. supervisor or observer) 

        d.     Date of contact 

 

6.  Your Assessor will mark you ‘Competent’ for the unit assignment when this assignment has all Assessment criteria marked as 1 (one) or "Satisfactory". 

 


Checklist 3: You can also edit the marking criteria to match the assessment activities from the Learner Assessment Pack information, (marking criteria is based on the Record of Assessment part on each Learner Assessment Pack) 

 

To add another marking criteria, click on + Add criterion located at the end of the question list: 

 

To delete a marking criteria, Click on the X button beside the criterion you want to delete. 

 

To re-arrange the marking criteria, click the 🡡 to move the criterion one block up, or 🡣 to move criterion one block down. 

 

 


Checklist 4:  

Add this as an assessment item (if not already in template).  

  • Assessor has verified and confirmed the evidence submissions with the supervisor/observer involved in witnessing the assessments and discussed performance of the tasks.

  • Assessor has recorded Supervisor/observer name, their role in the assessment, the date of contact and discussion details in the learner feedback section 

Description for Students 

A grade of 1 (one) means ‘Satisfactory’, or that your task has been completed to the required performance level.  A grade of 0 (zero) means "Not Yet Satisfactory" and will require you to read the assessor's feedback (below) for what you need to do to achieve a satisfactory result in this task. 

 

Description for Markers 

Mark this task with a 1 (one) for ‘Satisfactory’ completion or  0 (zero) for "Not Yet Satisfactory". For "Not Yet Satisfactory" results you must provide the candidate detailed instructions on what they need to do to achieve a satisfactory result in the feedback section.

Checklist 6: On the Assignment activity settings page, under Grade settings, Type should be PointMaximum grade and Grade to pass should match to meet our grading system of Pass: Competent or Fail: Not Yet Competent. 

 

 


The Marking Guide is now updated and applied to the Learner Assessment Pack.
