Overview
In this tutorial, we'll discuss how you can grade an online learning assessment.
Step tutorial
1. Locate the course you want to grade. For this tutorial, we'll use ICTWEB432.
2. Go to the final section. Depending on the unit, you might see a Learner Assessment Pack or an Assessment Workbook.
3. You may select from the activity list which activity you wish to grade first; either option will do.
KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT (KA)
1. Open the Knowledge Assessment and click on the "View Student Attempts" button to start grading.
2. A list of attempts will be displayed. Identify the student you want to grade and click the "Grade" button beside their name to begin.
3. For the Knowledge Assessment, each tab corresponds to 1 point, except for the preliminary task and declaration. Scroll to the bottom part of the page to see the grade field. If the student successfully answered all the questions correctly, you may give them 1 point; otherwise, give them 0.
4. You can use the next or previous button to easily navigate from one question to another. Alternatively, you can use the task navigation on the side. Either option will do the job.
5. Complete the grading until the last item.
6. Once you reach the Declaration tab, click on the “Finish” button.
7. You should now be able to see the grade summary. Head to the bottom part of the page and click the "Finish review" button.
WORKPLACE ASSESSMENT (WA), PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT (PA), AND/OR CASE STUDY (CS)
1. Open the WA, PA, or CS you wish to grade, then click on the "View Student Attempts" button to begin.
2. A list of attempts will be displayed. Identify the student you want to grade and click the "Grade" button beside their name to begin.
3. For these types of assessments (WA, PA, or CS), tabs with instructions only do not require a grade. However, tabs with submissions and recordings do require a point.
4. Go to the tab(s) where grading is needed. In this example, it will be the Task 1 tab.
NOTE: Use the next and previous buttons to navigate across different tabs. The Save button saves the changes you have made within the tab. However, note that changes will automatically be saved once you move to a different tab, so you don't need to click it. The previous or next button is enough.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page until you reach the grade field. Unlike the KA, you cannot manually add a point to this field; you have to answer either the checklist and/or the observation form beside it.
6. Once clicked, a Checklist or Observation Form will pop up. You have to tick "Yes" or "No" per criterion: "Yes" if they have met the requirement, and "No" if they have not.
NOTE: This works on an all-or-nothing logic: ALL criterion must be ticked "Yes" to get a point. Failing to do so will result in a score of 0.
7. Click the “Save” button once done, and a point should automatically be added to the Grade field.
8. Follow the same process on the tabs that require grading. Once all grading is complete, navigate to the last tab (Declaration) and click the “Finish” button.
9. You should now see the grade summary. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Finish review" button.
And that is how you grade an online learning assessment.
