How To Mark an Essay Type of Quiz
Note: You need LMS Admin or Trainer access before you can perform this action.
This tutorial will show you how to mark an attempt and give feedback for an essay type of quiz.
Step 1: Login and go to the course page where you want to check the student's attempts for the quiz.
Step 2: Locate the quiz activity on the course home page and click the quiz's link .
When there are already recorded attempts, the Attempt link will show the number of record, click it to see the list of attempts.

Step 3: On the results attempts record's page, scroll down to check attempts with Require Grading.
You may click on the 'Review Attempt' link or the links for Not Yet Graded and Require Grading.
Step 4: On the Grading page, you can see the Quiz navigation at the right side, you may click it to proceed to specific question item.
Step 5: At the bottom part of each essay question, there is a link to 'Make comment or override mark' to input score and feedback.
Step 6: Upon clicking the link, a pop-up window will appear. This contains the Marking Guide and the Feedback section and the box to input the score.
Step 7. Don't forget to hit the Save button when making changes.
You have successfully given a mark to an essay type of question.
You may check the score in the Attempts Report page of the quiz activity.
