How To Grade an Assignment using a Marking Guide v2
Note: You need LMS Admin or Trainer access before you can perform this action.
Marking using a marking guide is more detailed and less subjective than awarding a single grade, but it's less time-consuming to set up. You can allow students to view the marking guide before they submit so that they know what their learning priorities are in relation to the assignment.
Setting up the marking Guide is required before you can proceed with this tutorial.
Step 1: Login and go to the course page where you want to add the marking guide on an assignment to:
Step 2:
Locate the assignment activity
on the course home page and click the assignment's link
.
Step 3:
On the assignment's home page, Click View all submissions
Step 4:
On the Grading page, you can choose which submission should be graded, Once you have decided, click on the 'Grade' button.
Step 5: The
Feedback
page for the student displays, containing:
- Student's name for marking
- A link to the submitted file
- in the Grades section, the marking guide criteria (with comment boxes and score fields for you to complete).
- in the Feedback section, a box where you can add feedback text.
- You can also select the Send notifications checkbox to let the student know their assignment has been graded.
- Feedback Files section, you can send a feedback file to the students by uploading it here.
- The Attempt settings
Step 5:
Complete the
Feedback
page and either:
- click Save changes to return to the Submissions page, or
- Save and show next to save your changes and move on to marking the next submission.
