How to Publish Courses or Activities from Your LMS as an LTI Tool v2

How to Publish Courses or Activities from Your LMS as an LTI Tool v2

Idea
Overview
This guide explains how to publish a course activity as an LTI tool using Moodle. LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) allows learners on a different system (known as an LTI consumer) to access selected activities, with grades sent back to the consumer site.

This guide covers the outbound process of publishing a course or specific activity from your LMS to an external platform using LTI Tool. Use this when you need to make your learning content available to another LMS or partner system, allowing learners to launch the content externally without a separate login, while progress and grades continue to be tracked in your LMS.
Info
NOTE: You must have Manager access in your LMS before you can perform these steps.

Notes
Step Tutorial
1. Within the course, go to Participants, then Enrolment methods.

2. Click 'Add method' and choose 'Publish as LTI tool' as an enrolment method.

3. In the 'Tool to be published' field, select the course or individual activity you want to share.

4. Scroll down and click 'Add method'.

5. Go to More, look for Published as LTI tools on the chosen course.

6. Note the launch details or the registration URL for the LTI consumer site.

For the LTI consumer site, you will also need to provide a consumer key. This can be any identifier you choose.

Depending on the requirements of the receiving LMS, you can share either the cartridge (configuration) URL and secret, the launch URL, or a registration URL.

These are the steps on how to publish a course or an activity as LTI tool.
