How to Use "Log in as"

Idea
Overview
The "Log in as" feature allows administrators—and teachers with the appropriate permissions—to temporarily access the Learning Management System (LMS) as another user. This is useful for troubleshooting issues, verifying permissions, or viewing the LMS exactly as the user experiences it. The feature is accessed through the user’s profile by selecting the Log in as option. This feature can be accessed in either the system or course context.

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of using this feature in the LMS.

Notes
Step Tutorial

3. Search for the user you want to log in as, and click their name to open their profile.

4. On the user’s profile page, go to the Administration section and click Log in as.

5. A message will appear confirming that you are now logged in as the selected user. Click Continue to proceed.

From a Course

1. Log in with an account that has permission to use the log in as feature.
2. Go to the course where you want to use the feature.
In the course page, navigate to the Participants tab and click on the name of the user you want to login as.

4. On the user’s profile page, go to the Administration section and click Log in as.

5. A message will appear confirming that you are now logged in as that user. Click Continue to proceed.

InfoNOTE: After using the Log in as feature, you need to log out and log in again to return to your normal role. This is a security safeguard.
